Musicians again demand action from PM on streaming exploitation

Following up their letter in April, more musicians have written to the PM asking for a small change to the law to redress streaming inequities. This time over 232 musicians have signed, including music knights Mick Jagger, Tom Jones, Barry Gibb and Van Morrison. The letter was organised by Broken Record (the campaign formed by Tom Gray of Gomez) with the MU and the Ivors Academy on behalf of songwriters. It states: "Streaming platforms, record labels and other internet giants have exploited performers and creators without rewarding them fairly" and says two words added to the 1988 Copyright, Designs and Patents Act would redress the balance.
