Born David Dockery in Trench Town, Jamaica, Dahvid Slur grew up in the nearby community of Jones Town surrounded by the rich musical heritage of reggae. Music was always a part of his life; both of his parents, his brother, and his neighbors heavily influenced his passion. Dahvid attended Trench Town High School, where he honed his vocal skills as a member of the choir and quickly learned to play the guitar and steel pans. Immersed in the rhythms of reggae and dancehall, he developed a distinctive sound that resonates with anyone who hears it. Dahvid’s music blends the roots of reggae with a fresh, modern twist, creating a unique style that captivates listeners. His recent tracks, like “Got Me Singing,” “Joy,” and “Stay Alive,” along with the fan-favorite “Cyah Kill Rasta,” a collaboration with the late Jo Mersa Marley from his six-track EP *New Age Rockaz*, showcase his ability to merge the future of reggae with its past. He has quickly become a standout talent in Jamaica’s dynamic reggae scene, building a strong local following in Kingston and across Jamaica, as well as attracting a growing international fan base.
